What an amazing evening! Thank you to everyone who contributed, the benefit concert was a huge success for our Rebuild for the Future Campaign.  And, thanks our volunteers and performers, it was as enjoyable as it was successful.

The evening opened with a pre-concert Meet & Greet with our Violin Virtuoso, Rachel Barton Pine. Papa Joe's Restaurant sponsored the delicious food, wine,  and refreshing drinks. Angela Selway sponsored the open bar, and, with the help of volunteers Mrs. Goggins and Lauren Fury, took care of setup and reception to allow the Sisters to see to the children and meet our VIP guests.

At 8:00 the lights were dimmed. Queen of All Saints Academy opened the concert with the enchanting works of contemporary composer Bruno Coulais; the Sisters and student musicians,  accompanied by Rachel Barton Pine, Sylvia Pine, Dr. Catherine Michelsen, and Mr. & Mrs. John Chatterton, provided the orchestra behind the two choral pieces, sung by the choir of 42 students. 

Rachel Barton Pine and Matt Hagle went on to dazzle the audience with their passionate performance and flawless technique in  the Beethoven and  Chevalier de Saint-Georges Sonatas. Before each Sonata, Rachel engaged with the audience in a fascinating conversation outlining the historical and emotional connection of the two works. What a treat! 

After a 10-minute intermission, Queen of All Saints Academy returned to the stage to perform the beloved Caccini's Ave Maria. Rachel then performed a final Brahms Sonata with Matt Hagle (on the very instrument hand-picked by Brahms himself!). One final surprise- Rachel was joined on stage by her daughter Sylvia Pine for an intimate duet of Bach-Gounod's Ave Maria!
